The Alim is a multimedia CD-ROM program for Windows that facilitates study of the primary resource materials of the Islamic tradition. The User may access and search databases containing the Qur'an in Arabic script, Roman transliteration, and two translations (Yusuf Ali and Pickthall). You can access an audio Qur'anic recitation with a click of the mouse. It also offers two collections of Hadith (the sayings of the Prophet): Sahih Bukhari and Al-Muwatta. In addition, there are Qur'anic commentaries by Maududi, history and biographies, subject index, and a reference work on Islamic Law. |
